Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit United States on February 12-13. This visit is his first visit to the US after President Donald Trump’s second-term inauguration. During this visit, Modi will hold bilateral meetings with US President Donald Trump. He will also interact with Indian Community and global business leaders during this visit.
Narendra Modi will be among the first global leaders to meet President Trump at the White House after Trump’s second term swearing-in. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is currently in Washington, and he becomes the first foreign leader to meet President Trump since his return as President. Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba is also visiting US this week.
Before attending this official bilateral meet in the US, PM Modi will be visiting France from February 10 to 12 for AI Action Summit. Modi will co-chair this AI Summit with French President Emmanuel Macron in France's capital city Paris.

After this AI summit PM will be visiting US and will meet President Donald Trump at the White House. Trump was officially sworn in as the 47th President of the US on January 20, 2025. During this call they also discussed about security, trade ties, and illegal immigration related issues.
Few days ago, Trump has called, India, China, and Brazil are high-tariff countries and he will be going to increase taxes on these countries if they did not reduce taxes on US imports. But for time being India has escaped from this tariff threats on its exports to the US.
During India’s latest budget it reduced duties on various goods, including premium motorcycles like Harley Davidson. Indian finance secretary told local media, this reduction on duties related to premium goods indicates that India is not a high-tariff country.
Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar represented India at Donald Trumps Oath Taking Ceremony. S Jaishankar also held talks with his US counterpart Marco Rubio during his US visit. And soon after this visit Indian foreign ministry said that the two countries were working together to further improve their bilateral relations.
Trump has recently declared a national emergency on illegal immigration. Illegal immigrants are one who entered US either illegally, or overstayed their visas. His administration started military flights to deport undocumented illegal migrants.
As per the report, so far around 18,000 undocumented Indian immigrants living illegally in the US have been identified. But exact real number of illegal Indian migrants are yet to find, and it is likely to be much higher. His administration has already deported 104 illegal Indian migrants through US army flight. This US military flight has landed in Amritsar, Punjab.
Trump said he was sure that India will do the right thing when it comes to illegal immigration related issue. According to the Pew Research Center reports, there were around 725,000 illegal Indian migrants were identified in the US last year.
During PM Modi’s US visit he is expected to discuss this illegal migrant issue in detail with President Trump. This visit is expected to play a key role in strengthening relations between Indian and US. Also, there may be discussions on international issues during PM Modi’s US visit.
