CSK Vs LSG: Chennai Super Kings, who are in their worst form in the Indian Premier League 2025, will face a tough test on Monday against the in-form Lucknow Super Giants in their seventh match of the current season.

CSK, who have lost five consecutive matches for the first time, including three at Chepauk, are in a slump. If there is anyone who can rescue Chennai from their current woes, it is Mahendra Singh Dhoni. But Dhoni, who replaced the injured Ruturaj Gaikwad in the previous match, has failed to get the team back on track. If CSK fails to get back on track, the road ahead will be almost impassable.

Chennai spinners are out of form

Both the spinners and the batters are struggling to find their form at home ground. This has naturally contributed to the team's downfall. Gaikwad's absence has made it even harder for CSK to get back into winning rhythm. Chennai were accused of being overly dependent on key players. But now, after a record series of defeats, those questions have come to the fore again. Dhoni himself admitted that it was becoming difficult to score at least 60 runs during the powerplay, reflecting the need for explosive batsmen in the team.

Openers Rachin Ravindra and Devon Conway are excellent batsmen, but they have not been able to perform as expected so far. Rahul Tripathi, who is playing in place of Gaikwad, is under pressure to find the form. The team is also looking forward to a useful game from senior all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. Shivam Dube is expected to be well supported by other players. But Dhoni's frequent changes in the batting order have been a setback for the team composition.

Batting coach Hussey is confident of victory

Reacting after CSK's defeat in the previous match, CSK batting coach Michael Hussey expressed confidence that "Chennai will continue on its winning path in the remaining matches." For this to be possible, the entire team needs to give an all-round performance in all departments.

Meanwhile, Lucknow, led by Rishabh Pant, who is coming off a hat-trick win, is looking for a fourth consecutive win. Lucknow, who had mixed results at the beginning of the tournament due to the lackluster performance of their bowlers, won against Gujarat Titans on Saturday because for their bowlers top class performance. Avesh Khan, Ravi Bishnoi and Shardul Thakur are the main bowling weapons for the Lucknow team. The Lucknow pitch is traditionally slow and will gradually become batting-friendly. Therefore, Nicholas Pooran is likely to make another appearance.
