DC IPL 2025: Delhi Capitals Squad, Complete Schedule, Timings and Venues – Delhi Capitals, led by Axar Patel, will kick off their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 campaign against Rishabh Pant’s Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam on March 24, 2025 Monday.
Axar Patel has been named the new captain of Delhi Capitals for IPL 2025. Having been with the Delhi Capitals team since 2019, he was their top retention for Rs 16.50 crore ahead of the mega auction held in last November. Axar Patel also serves as the vice-captain of Team India in the T20 International format.
Following Rishabh Pant’s unexpected departure from Delhi Capitals team ahead of the mega IPL auction, Axar Patel became their one of the most experienced player. He has played 82 matches for the Delhi team over six IPL seasons.
South African Cricketer Faf du Plessis will serve as Axar Patel’s deputy at Delhi Capitals. Du Plessis, who captained Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) until the conclusion of IPL 2024, was released by the RCB franchise prior to the IPL mega auction last year. Delhi Capitals secured him for his base price of Rs 2 crore.
