LSG IPL 2025: Lucknow Super Giants Squad, Complete Schedule, Venue and Timings - The Lucknow Super Giants will aim to bounce back from their disappointing performance in the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL), where they missed the play-offs for the first time since their debut in 2022. Heading into the 2025 season, they will be led by a new captain, Rishabh Pant. The team is determined to reach the final for the first time, building on their best performance to date - back-to-back third-place finishes in 2022 and 2023.
During last year's IPL auction, Rishabh Pant, who was released by Delhi Capitals (DC) franchise, set a new record as the most expensive IPL signing of all time when Lucknow Super Giants acquired him for a Rs 27 crores. While DC responded with an RTM bid of Rs 20.75 crore, LSG dramatically increased the bid, ultimately making Pant the highest-priced player in auction history.
The LSG franchise first retained players like Nicholas Pooran, Ravi Bishnoi, Mayank Yadav, Ayush Badoni, and Mohsin Khan. However, they made notable changes by releasing their former captain KL Rahul, who joined Delhi Capitals. In the auction, LSG strengthened their squad by signing big names such as David Miller, Aiden Markram, and Mitchell Marsh, along with adding players like Avesh Khan, Abdul Samad, Aryan Juyal, and Akash Deep.
